Introductory Provisions
1. These conditions govern the rights and obligations between the association Forest.Ink z.s., ID
06878997, with its registered office at Sklenářka 458, 517 41 Kostelec nad Orlicí, registered in
the register of associations maintained by the Regional Court in Hradec Králové under file no. L
11640 (hereinafter referred to as "the association") and the participant of the volunteer stay (hereinafter
referred to as "the volunteer").
2. The association provides a service consisting of mediating a volunteer stay
in Ecuador (hereinafter referred to as "the volunteer stay") for volunteers, which is ensured in Ecuador
by the association Bosque Medicinal.
3. The volunteer stay is a short-term activity (most often 20 days), aimed at
contributing to the protection of the rainforest in the El Paraiso nature reserve
through specific practical activities (e.g. reforestation, observing the nature
reserve, monitoring camera traps, scientific research with experts).
Registration and Participation in the Stay
1. The volunteer participates in the volunteer stay by their own decision, without
any entitlement to remuneration.
2. The volunteer registers for the volunteer stay through the registration
form accessible via the association's website at
www.forest.ink. In the registration form, the volunteer fills in all required
fields (first and last name, selected date of the volunteer stay, their language
skills, email address) and submits the completed registration form.
3. The association will inform the volunteer via the given email after submitting the registration form
whether they have been accepted for the volunteer stay or not. Acceptance to the volunteer
stay is not guaranteed; it primarily depends on the occupancy (capacity) of the chosen date
of the volunteer stay. Along with the notification of acceptance to the volunteer stay,
the volunteer will receive further information regarding the volunteer stay and a request
for payment of the registration fee (details provided below).
4. By participating in the volunteer stay, the volunteer agrees to behave considerately
towards other volunteers, respect nature conservation and the safety and organizational
rules of the volunteer stay.
5. The volunteer agrees to have a valid passport, valid for at least 6 months
before the return date from the volunteer stay. The volunteer is not required to have a visa.
6. The volunteer is aware of all risks associated with participating in the volunteer stay and is
obligated to procure appropriate insurance for the stay in Ecuador (especially insurance
for medical expenses, baggage insurance, liability insurance), and to arrange for
any necessary vaccinations.
7. The association is not responsible for any property or non-property damage that
may arise to the volunteer during the volunteer stay.
Price and Payment Conditions for the Volunteer Stay
1. The price of the volunteer stay is 1000 USD (for a group of at least 5 volunteers
on the given date of the volunteer stay) and includes the following: meals,
accommodation in the nature reserve and transportation to/from Gualaquiza, as well as
6 days of leisure activities (e.g. yoga, qigong, meditation, exploring medicinal and edible plants), including a stay
in the Shuar Indian community. The mentioned amount is fully transferred to the association Bosque
Medicinal for the purpose of ensuring the volunteer stay.
2. The price of the volunteer stay does not include airfare, transportation from
the airport to Gualaquiza and back, and insurance. The flight connection from
Europe to Ecuador is either to Quito (the capital of Ecuador) or to the city of Guayaquil, which is closer to the nature reserve and from where transferring from the airport to the bus in Gualaquiza is easier, from which transportation to
the nature reserve is provided.
3. In the event that the volunteer is accepted for the volunteer stay, the association will request
payment of a portion of the price of the volunteer stay (registration fee) in the amount of 4,000 CZK.
The remaining price of the volunteer stay is due before the start of the volunteer stay, with the volunteer being informed of the due date in advance by the association.
4. By paying the registration fee, the volunteer expressly agrees that
the service provision, i.e. mediating the volunteer stay, will begin immediately upon
receipt of the registration fee, thus waiving their right to withdraw from
the contract before the expiration of the 14-day withdrawal period.
5. In the event that the volunteer stay is canceled for any reason by the association
or if the capacity for the chosen date of the volunteer stay is not filled, the
registration fee will be refunded to the volunteer in full. To facilitate the refund
of the registration fee, the volunteer is requested to provide their account number to which the
registration fee will be refunded.
6. In the event that the volunteer stay is canceled for any reason by the
volunteer, the association has the right to charge a cancellation fee of 4,000 CZK, i.e.
the registration fee will not be refunded to the volunteer. The volunteer is obliged to promptly inform the association of their non-participation in the volunteer stay via email at
volunteers@forest.ink without unnecessary delay after discovering the circumstances preventing their
participation in the volunteer stay, so that the association can offer the vacant spot to
other interested parties.
Final Provisions
1. Information on the processing of personal data is provided here (insert link). By sending the registration form, the volunteer
acknowledges the information regarding the processing of personal data.
